Porto Recanati, defined the living room on the sea, is an ancient fishing village framed by the spectacular Conero Mount landscape, the ideal place for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. Thanks to its 8-kilometre coastline, its beaches of fine gravel and crystalline waters Porto Recanati has received the prestigious Blue Flag for years. Opposite the typical colourful houses of the historic centre there is a beautiful flat waterfront, completely car-free, an ideal place for pleasant summer walks. In the central square, where the old Swabian Castle is located, there is the beginning of the famous Corso Matteotti, appreciated by the lovers of shopping, street food and antique and handicraft markets. Riders will love the many flat bike paths. A wonderful holiday in Porto Recanati guarantees fun and relax!
The Beaches
The beaches of Porto Recanati are divided into three parts: starting from the North there are first the beaches of Scossicci, then the beaches of the Centre and finally those of the Pine Forest.
Scossicci Beach
This very beautiful waterfront promenade borders the beaches of Marcelli and is characterised by both lidos and free beach areas. It is a beach of gravel and small pebbles where you can spend a nice day far away from mass tourism in complete relax and pampered by the sun. It is a very comfortable area because you can park along the road opposite the shore without paying. The promenade is easily reachable by car or public transport.
The Beaches of the Centre of Porto Recanati
Opposite the centre of Porto Recanati there is a long series of beaches with lidos, ideal place for families or to do sport by the sea. Many beaches are protected by artificial rocks which create natural pools where it is possible swimming in peace, even for the little ones. Both here and in Scossicci zone you can find some beaches for dogs where they can enter the water and stay on the beach. You must absolutely taste the dishes of the local cuisine in the many chalet-restaurants on the sea where you can taste the typical “brodetto di pesce” di Porto Recanati. It is possible to park behind the centre, following the SS16 and taking the centre exit. The parking area is free and very large and capacious. You can park with fee along Corso Matteotti, in Europa Eurovillage square, in the many side streets of the centre, but you must pay attention to the LTZ (Limited Traffic Zone) and its timetable.
The Beaches of the Pine Forest
In the southern part of the town, surrounded by the greenery of the pine forest, there is one of the wildest and most suggestive beaches in Porto Recanati. This is your ideal place if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing beach. Both free beaches and lidos offer a magnificent view of the Conero Mount. It is a zone full of campsites and camper areas. In most areas it is possible to park the car for free.
